Kathy Lindert is an award-winning contemporary realist oil painter living in Mount Gretna, PA. She develops her paintings through numerous layers to explore underlying depth using the time-honored techniques of the Old Masters. The interaction of transparent, semi-transparent, and opaque passages within the same painting creates the illusion of form in light and shadow. It also yields paintings that are rich in luminosity and nuanced in their narratives. Kathy is a master copyist at the Smithsonian's National Gallery of Art and paints regularly at the museum. Her paintings have been featured in The Artist’s Magazine, the National Oil and Acrylic Painters' Society (Excellence Award), the Art Renewal Center's 16th Annual Salon (Finalist), a TV documentary, as well as local, national and international exhibits and competitions.
